About

IUPR invents, develops, and prototypes new technologies and breakthrough products for industry and government.  We have experts in many areas, including image understanding, networking software, pattern recognition, mathematics, software development, neural networks, algorithms, digital libraries, mobile computing, machine learning, statistical natural language modeling, information extraction, and statistical decision theory.

IUPR is part of the DFKI (German Center for Artificial Intelligence), a non-profit organization, and we are associated with the University of Kaiserslautern.

IUPR is funded through industrial contract research, public research grants (EU, federal, state), and consulting contracts.

Research

IUPR researchers work on problems of pattern recognition and image understanding.  We have a particular focus in three areas:

• Document Analysis and Digital Libraries
• Image and Video Computing
• Network Analysis and Network Security
